NC Connected, Inc.

NC Connected, Inc. offers a variety of in-school, after-school, summer and weekend programs designed to encourage girls to pursue careers in technology, to provide useful life skills, and to link girls to female mentors and expose them to many different career options.

The Girls Connected TechCamp program is a series of track-out camps and classes that teach the fundamentals of web design and development to girls ages 10 to 17. Some of the topics covered include:

In addition to learning web design and development, the girls in the Girls Connected TechCamp program deliver the training they've learned to future program participants. They also teach at local computer camps that use NCC curriculum. The girls work with real students and clients to gain hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Presenting Ideas and Designs
  • Working as a Team
  • Meeting Deadlines
  • Delivering Computer Training
